How do the driving assists (TCS / ABS) work?

T and Y toggle traction control and ABS — the two electronic assists borrowed from real trucks. Their standard behavior: traction control cuts wheel spin when you hammer the throttle (useful on wet pavement, restrictive in mud where you want wheelspin), and ABS keeps the wheels from locking under braking.

The practical truck-game logic: assists on for paved cruising, assists off when you’re digging through mud or trying to rotate the truck. Toggle them per surface and feel the difference yourself — the binds exist precisely so you can flip them mid-drive.

Manual or automatic — which transmission mode should you use?

M switches transmission mode, and E/Q shift manually. The combination mirrors real truck driving: in automatic you focus on steering and jobs, while manual shifting gives you engine braking and exact control on hills, mud, and heavy loads.

When do you actually use 4x4 and the handbrake?

4x4 (G, or DPad Up on controller) is your terrain switch — engage it before you enter mud or loose farm ground (exactly the conditions a lifted build is built for), not after you’re already spinning. Disengage on hard pavement; it’s there for traction, not speed.

Handbrake (P) is both a parking brake and a stunt tool: hold it to slide the rear, release to hook back up. It’s also the fastest way to hold a truck still on a slope while you line up a job pickup.

Why does freecam (Shift+P) matter?

Freecam detaches the camera so you can orbit your truck mid-drive or parked. In a game whose whole culture is stance — lifted, squat, low — freecam is how you actually check your build: the angle tells you if the squat leans right or the lift sits level.
